Over the years, there has been an interest in providing an opportunity for young players to play soccer at an intermediate level, between recreational play and the highly committed level of club play.

The objective of the LMFC Signature Program is to provide an intermediary playing level that better prepares players, parents, and coaches for the transition from recreational play to competitive club play. The LMFC Signature Program is perfect for families wanting a more competitive soccer experience and player development opportunity while still keeping open the option to play sports in other seasons. Signature also serves as a natural progression, or transition, for players wishing to play at a higher level, while retaining many of the benefits of a recreational schedule at a lower cost. 

Signature Leagues are "localized" playing circuits formed by nearby recreational leagues. There are a number of rules that are unique to the Signature League such as a 50% play rule for all players, a limit on the annual financial costs, and a limitation on distance of travel.

The coaches for Signature teams are still parent volunteers, but they must apply and be selected by La Mirada Soccer Association Board.
